Lorenzo Woods

Mr. Lorenzo Woods, affectionately known as “Lo”, was born on May 2, 1950, in Waco, Texas, to the late Martha and Cornelius Woods Sr. After courageously battling illness, Lorenzo entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family in Vacaville, CA. At a young age, Lorenzo moved with his family to Wichita Falls, Texas, where he completed his primary education and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1968. He Joined the United States Army, proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated many years as a contracted Government worker and a United States Postal Service employee, retiring after faithfully serving his community. Lorenzo was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend. Above all, he valued family and relationships, leaving an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Lorenzo Woods Jr. and Pierre Woods; his sister, Mary Louise Tucker; and his brother Melvin Woods. He leaves cherished memories with his devoted, loving wife, Maria Woods; his daughter, Lina Panesso; his son, Bruce Woods (Jennifer) and Cornelius Woods (?); his sisters, Marjorie Houston and Deborah Woods; his daughter-in-law, India Woods; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Those who knew Lorenzo knew there was never a dull moment when he was around. His quick wit, clever one-liners, and unforgettable sense of humor could brighten even the hardest days. Beneath his humorous and sometimes complex personality was a heart of pure gold. He never hesitated to help family and others out of a bind, offer advice and especially advice on what his “momma always said”. His generosity, strength, and love touched countless lives. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we are grateful for the gift of his life and the memories that will live on forever. His laughter will echo in our hearts, his love will remain in our spirits, and his legacy of kindness and service will never be forgotten.
