Company

You can be truly comfortable calling upon Fairmont Cremation Services, because you’re not going to be dealing with a large, impersonal corporate staff.

Rather, you’ll be connecting with neighbors and friends who will listen closely to your stories, provide information when we see the need, and help you to arrive at decisions you can be pleased with for years to come.

Our office, nestled in the beautiful grounds of the Fairmont Memorial Park, is inviting, and lacks the often overwhelming feeling of a ‘funeral home.’ You’ll feel comfortable during the arrangement conference, not only because of our surroundings, but in knowing that you’ve selected the leader in cremation services in Solano County.

Meet Our Staff
Chris Donhost
Funeral Director/ Manager
chris@fairmontcremation.com

Chris has been in funeral service for over 12 years, and graduated from the Cypress College of Mortuary Science in 1997. He continued his education at Portland Community College, graduating with an Associate of Arts degree in 2007.

He is very happily married, and he and his wife Evelyn are proud parents of twin sons, Elijah and Paul. They have made Vacaville their home, where they are members of the Crossroads Christian Church.

Chris is an active member in good standing of the Vacaville Rotary Club, the Association of California Cremationists, the Cremation Association of North America, and the California Funeral Directors Association.

If you ask Chris about his hobbies, he’ll smile when he says just one word: “trains.” He is most fond of historic steam locomotives, and modern live steam railroading.

Tomas E. De la Cruz
Crematory Operator

Tomas has been in funeral service for five years. Currently he holds the very important position of crematory operator here at Fairmont Cremation Services. He is responsible for the hands-on care of your loved one, which is a commitment he takes very seriously.

“Certainly there are many ways to help others. But, in those moments of sadness and physical pain from losing a loved one, I see that I am very lucky to be in this position. I can help people in a way no one else can: by caring for their loved one as if they were a part of my own family.”

Tomas, his wife, son, and daughter are residents of Woodland.

Carol Nicholson
Funeral Director
cnicholson@fairmontcremation.com

Carol has worked within the funeral service profession since 1986, and brought a wealth of experience to Fairmont Cremation when she joined the firm in September 2009. “I began as a bookkeeper/secretary, but quickly found myself drawn to caring for families in a more direct way. It’s very fulfilling work; guiding them through the arrangement steps, helping them during the service, as well as afterwards; it’s all deeply rewarding.”

Carol is a member of the Woodland Reveille Lions Club, and has served the membership, and the community-at-large, in many different capacities. She has three grown children and three grandsons.
